Delhi Captain, Shreyas Iyer won the toss and put opponents at bat first considering dew factor in the second part of the game. But Hyderabad off to a good start, both of their openers were calculative in shot selection and they have scored 77 runs for the first wicket in 9.3 overs.

Hyderabad Captain David Warner scored 45 runs in 33 balls( three 4’s and two 6’s) before falling to veteran Leg Spinner Amit Mishra. Bairstow scored another fifty in this year’s IPL,53 runs from 48 balls. Kane Williamson on his return to Starting XI played an impressive game with the bat after a long absent from Cricket due to Inury.

The Kiwi Captain helped Hyderabad to score meaningful score of 162 runs with 41 runs in just 26 balls.KG Rabada once again impressive with ball for Delhi, his 2/21 in four overs helped Delhi to restrict Hyderabad to a par total.

Delhi batsmen never felt comfortable on this slow pitch while chasing 163. None of their batsmen able to convert their starts into match winning performance. Dhawan(34 runs in 31 balls), Rishab Pant (28 runs in 27 balls) and Hetmyer (21 of 12)are major contributors for Delhi.

Rashid Khan, Man of the Match:

“I think I don’t take pressure on myself that I have to create impact. I keep calm and cool and focused on what I have to do. I look to do the basics right, and enjoy the game. When I bowled the first ball, I knew if I bowl quicker and harder, you could get turn. Then you have to bowl the length, a bit back of a length. The captain always backs me, and he tells me you know better. So he tells me, let me know what you want. Only If things are not going my way do you go to ask the captain what to do. Tough one-and-a-half year. First lost my dad, then my mom three-four months ago. She was my biggest fan. This award goes to them. when I used to win an award, whole night she used to talk to me. Tough times.”

David Warner, Captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad:

“Unfortunately we had Mitch marsh injured, and we were trying to figure out how he we get some overs in. The young Abhishek bowled really well. We worked really hard on our death bowling, and today they were all fantastic. We pride ourselves on our running between the wickets. If we are not getting boundaries, we run hard.”

Shreyas Iyer, Captain of Delhi Capitals:

“I think we were happy with 160 to chase. It was a par score. They knew the pitch better than us. They outplayed us, credit to them. It was really surprising that it played two-paced in the second innings. We thought dew would play a massive role and the ball would come on well, but yeah we can’t give excuses at this time. We didn’t capitalise on the ground dimension and take doubles. We will make sure we do when we play here next.”
