StyrianGP: Hamilton wins from pole

Lewsi Hamilton wins inaugural Styrian GP from POLE and Bottas comes home in P2 ahead of Max Verstappen.

Alex Albon finishes the race in P4 ahead of Lando Norris , who gained two positions in the final lap.Perez leads Racingpoint P6&P7 finish, Ricciardo, Sainz and Daniil Kvyat rounds off the top-10.

Mercedes domination continues

Lewis Hamilton looked like a man on mission, after troublesome season opener with couple of penalties, he looked very comfortable from start to finish and Brit led most of the race today without any pressure from back.

Bottas, who won last weeks season opener, comes home in P2 after starting from P4 on the grid. Bottas overtook third placed Carols Sainz during early laps of the race.The flying fin, overtook Max Verstappen during final stages of the race to come home in P2.Bottas leads drivers standings with 43 points and he holds early 6 points lead over his teammate Lewis, who is in second place with 37 points.

It’s another 1-2 finish for World Champions and they won both races in Red Bull Ring. Mercedes leads constructor standings with 80 points and they have almost double the lead over their nearest rival Mclaren with 39 points.

Ferrari out of Race in the first lap

Ferrari’s miserable start to 2020 season continues, Both Ferrari’s collided in the first lap of Styrian GP at turn 3, when Charles Leclerc lunged into back of Sebastian Vettel and damaging both cars in the process.

German lost his rear wing and Charles Leclerc damaged his floor, sorry Ferrari lost chance to validate their new floor and new front wing in race trim in similar conditions.

After retiring from the race, both Ferrari drivers spoke to media about their incident. Charles Leclerc admitted it was his mistake to cause the collision and Monegasque driver said, he already apologized to his teammate .

starting Grid

There were three drivers with grid penalty for different reasons. Lando Norris handed 3 place grid penalty for overtaking under yellow flags he will start from P9. Ferrari man, Charles Leclerc with 3 place grid penalty for impeding Daniil Kavyt during Q2 , he will start from P14 and Antonio Giovinazzi with 5 place grid penalty for replacing gearbox after Qualifying session, he will start from P19.
