F1 : Alpine F1 Team Launches 2021 Car A521

Alpine F1 Team officially opened a new era on March 2nd by virtually launching the first season in its history in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

The A521 is an evolution of the RS20 which competed in the 2020 season. In accordance with the regulatory changes agreed last year during the pandemic, the main structural elements of the A521 are taken from last year. However, every part outside this field has been developed and improved, especially at the rear where new aerodynamic restrictions have been imposed by the FIA.

New Livery Explained:

Called A521, this year’s single-seater is adorned with a superb livery combining blue, white and red, synonymous with Alpine’s racing heritage. The car will be powered by the Renault E-Tech 20B powertrain, a 1.6-liter V6 designed and developed in Viry-Châtillon, where the French automaker now has forty-five years of uninterrupted activity in F1.

Drivers and Team Structure for 2021 Season:

The first Alpine F1 Team single-seater will be entrusted to Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso. After a two-year hiatus, Fernando returns to Formula 1 with the team with which he won his two F1 World Champion titles in 2005 and 2006.

Esteban is entering his second year with the team and will want to capitalize on his great 2020 season having seen him sign his first Formula 1 podium at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix. The twenty-four-year-old Frenchman is entering his fourth full campaign in the race. discipline since its inception in August 2016.
