Manchester United : Mason Greenwood breaks Rooney’s record of Highest Scoring teenager in Premier League

Manchester United’s youngster Mason Greenwood has overtaken Wayne Rooney as the top scoring teenager for the club in the Premier League.

Greenwood scored 52 minute equalizer in 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Sunday, that was a 16th premier league goal for the teenager since making his senior debut last season under Ole. And he broke longstanding Wayne Rooney’s record of 15 goals tally as a teenager in United colors.

It’s the 19-year-old’s fifth goal in his last five games as he storms into top form for the crucial, and busy, end-of-the-season schedule.

“It was a good goal,” Greenwood admitted, looking back on his second-half strike.

“I just knew that he [Mings] was coming tight to you in the box, so if you get a little movement then you can get half a yard. I finished it well, I’m happy with my goal today.

“Hopefully there are many more to come. I’ll try and keep scoring goals so no one else can come and break the record in the future! I’m happy scoring goals.
