Manchester United 2020-21 Champions League Squad and Group Stage Fixtures

Manchester United’s 28 man 2020-21 Champions League squad and Group stage fixture has been revealed on Thursday and the Squad details submitted to UEFA ahead of their opening group fixture against Paris Saint-Germain on 20 October.

New summer signings Alex Telles, Facundo Pellistri, Edinson Cavani and Donny van de Beek are included in the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s 25-man A list. Injured Defender Phil Jones and Marcus Rojo left out of the squad.

Homegrown youngsters aged 21 or younger, such as Mason Greenwood, Teden Mengi and Brandon Williams, can remain on the B list, which could be added to up until midnight before any particular fixture.

UEFA Squad rules :

There must be a minimum of eight locally trained players, four of whom have come through the club’s own ranks between 15 and 21, with United’s Tim Fosu-Mensah, Lee Grant, Dean Henderson, Jesse Lingard, Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Axel Tuanzebe and Aaron Wan-Bissaka all classified as either ‘club trained’ or ‘association trained’.

Five substitutions will be permitted in each Champions League game for 2020-21 season, which means an extended 23-matchday squad can be named.

Goalkeepers: David De Gea, Dean Henderson, Lee Grant.

Defenders: Eric Bailly, Tim Fosu-Mensah, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Alex Telles, Axel Tuanzebe, Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Midfielders: Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Daniel James, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Facundo Pellistri, Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek.

Forwards: Edinson Cavani, Odion Ighalo, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford.

UNITED’S GROUP H FIXTURES

United will kick-start their 2020-21 Champions league campaign at PSG on 20th October, by keeping recent defensive struggles in mind, United will have hard time against PSG’s offense threat.

Old Trafford will host German team RB Leipzig on 28th October for the first European home game. Ole men are set for nearly 2100 miles trip to Basaksehir to take on Turkish Champions Istanbul Basaksehir.
