England reached EURO 2020 semi-finals after defeating Ukraine 4 – 0 in the quarter-finals. And they will be playing against high spirited Denmark team in the semi-finals on Wednesday at Wembley.
England has never won EURO Cup before, they have been considered as one of the favorites to win the tournament this year. After seeing team’s performance in the quarter-finals, their fans started believing they could bring the cup home.
The famous ‘FOOTBALL COMING HOME’ chants have making rounds all over the social media. In pre-match press meet, one of reporter posted same question to Denmark’s Goal Keeper Kasper Schmeichel. His answer is not only hilarious but he reminded that England have never won Euro cup.
Kasper Schmeichel is well known to English fans, he plays for Leicester City in the premier league and his father played for Manchester United. He is correct in way that England only won 1966 FIFA World Cup and never won EURO cup.
England’s best performances at the Euro finals were a third-place finish in Italy in 1968, when only four teams competed in the finals tournament, and two semi-finals including this year’s competition: one on home soil in 1996, when they lost to Germany on penalties.
