IPL 2021 Player Retention : Royal Challengers Bangalore

The window for the eight IPL franchises to retain players for the Indian Premier League 2021 season closed on Wednesday, 20th January. 139 players were retained by the franchises whereas 57 players were released from their existing squads.

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s run of poor show continued in IPL 2020 season, the team failed to advance in the knock-out stages. The aftermath of the failure resulted in team just retaining 12 Players for 2021 season, lowest number among all the teams.

RCB left with INR 35.90 Cr to fill 13 slots in the upcoming mini auction. RCB released some big name overseas players on the deadline day, Aussie Aaron Finch, South African fast bowling duo Chris Morris & Dale Steyn.

Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Devdutt Padikkal, Md. Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Joshua Phillipe, Pavan Deshpande, Shahbaz Ahmed, Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson

Released Players: 

Chris Morris, Shivam Dube, Aaron Finch, Umesh Yadav, Dale Steyn, Moeen Ali, Parthiv Patel, Pawan Negi, Isuru Udana, Gurkeerat Mann
