Formula 1 Drivers are rated mainly based on their success in winning the Drivers championship and no of race wins.But there are so many great drivers who never won championship but still they visited podiums many times.
Let us check who is good at converting their race starts into podiums in the current F12020 grid. Also we will check how they fare with F1 greats, who won more than three championship.
Mercedes Star and 6 time World champion, Lewis Hamilton leads the current year grid with 60.40%. English man stood on podium mammoth 151 times in his 250 race starts.
Lewis’s podium rate is second in the all time list, just behind one of all time greats Juan Manuel Fangio(68.63%).
Four time World Champion and Ferrari Man, Sebastian Vettel holds second place with 49.79% podium success rate. Former Redbull man, made a trip to podium 120 times in 241 race starts.
Seb holds fifth place in all-time greats podium success rate just above Brazilian legend Ayrton Senna and behind Fangio,Lewis,Prost and his childhood hero Michael.
Finnish Drivers Kimi and Bottas holds third and fourth place with 32.70% & 32.14% respectively. Redbull man, Max Verstappen rounds-off the top-5 with 30.39%.
Other notable things
Australian,Daniel Ricciardo in disappointing seventh place with just 16.96% . The new Ferrari signing, Sainz and Haas man, Kevin-Mag are neck and neck with 0.98% & 0.97% podium rate in 102 & 103 race starts respectively.
We need to wait until July 5th to see who can improve on their numbers when F1 season officially kick-starts.
