Spaniard Fernando Alonso, set for Formula 1 return with Renault F1 team for 2021 season.
According to Skysports, official announcement will be released on Wednesday. This will be third term for Alonso with famous French team.The ex Mclaren driver won his two championship with Renault during 2005-06 before moving to Mclaren Mercedes for 2007 season.
After spending one season with Mclaren, he went back to Renault for 2008-09 season for his second stint.The Spaniard won 14 races with Renault.
When other top teams in F1 are rooting for young drivers to build around, Renault’s decision to bring back 38 years old back is a head scratcher. Final details of contract will reveal, if any financial backing from Liberty group triggered Alonso’s return to F1 or any big sponsors aiding his comeback.
